Immigration, Health Care, ... who cares?

For a long time, I was able to lie to myself about Ron Paul's chances to win the republican nomination. Despite the statistics, and the media doing everything they could to limit Ron Paul's exposure, I still believed he had a chance. Ever since Super Tuesday, I haven't been able to convince myself that there is any remote possibility of Ron Paul being elected President in 2008. Unfortunately, this means that my political stance has returned to apathy. Of course I believe that some of the candidates are less bad than some of the others, but there's no way I could become excited about one of the remaining candidates.

On campus, the student body elections are going on, and the vote is today and tomorrow. Various students have formed parties, and have ideas that they want to implement. Of course these student governments are useless, and my college experience won't change at all, no matter who is elected. But through this school election, I learned something about myself: I will vote for anybody that gives me a free bagel.

Hillary, Obama, and McCain, are all trying to appeal to the various demographics. The black vote, the women's vote, the young vote, blah blah blah. Who's fighting for the apathetic vote? What are they doing to win the votes of myself and the millions of others who think that all 3 are sorry excuses for presidential candidates? My suggestion: free bagels. I am promising right here, that if any of those three candidates gives me a free bagel, they will win my vote. I can only speak for myself but I assume that this would be true for millions of the apathetic Americans who's pessimistic view on the future of our country can temporarily be forgotten by eating a delicious bagel ... with cream cheese.

What if someone else gave you a bagel? Would you then vote for the candidate of his/her choosing?

Just curious! I'd be willing to buy a few bagels to get my candidate elected.
