I just got back from an eventful weekend in Laramie Wyoming, home of the University of Wyoming. My partner and I made it to the octo-finals of a debate tournament in which 35 teams from around the nation competed. It was awesome, I learned a lot, and loved the whole tournament. These were the resolutions we debated:
Rd. 1: The United States Federal Government should enact a tax on carbon emissions.
Rd. 2: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization should admit Georgia as a member.
Rd. 3: The United States should provide Asylum for economic refugees.
Rd. 4: The President of the United States should agree without preconditions to presidential level diplomatic meetings with Iran.
Rd. 5: This House would increase community based disaster response programs.
Rd. 6: On balance, regional trade blocks are better than the world of the WTO.
Rd. 7: The United States Supreme Court should overrule one or more decisions limiting Native American Sovereignty.
Rd. 8: Russia is better off with a McCain presidency than an Obama presidency.

I was wondering why you went to Wyoming. How did you do? Were there any of those subjects that you just didn't know anything about, or did you have time to research them before hand?
wow.. I was on the "debate team" in elementary school. this sure takes me back.
